EuP Working Documents on a possible Commission Regulation for household refrigerating appliances

Posted on 4 February 2009

The European Commission (EC) has circulated two working documents on a possible Commission Regulation with regard to household refrigerating appliances, which is currently undergoing inter-service consultation in advance of the meeting of the Eco-design of Energy-using Products Framework Directive (the EuP Directive) Regulatory Committee on household refrigerating appliances, which is expected to take place on 12 March.

The two proposals from the European Commission are available: i) to establish a minimum energy efficiency standard for cold appliances (here) and ii) revising the existing A to G EU Energy Label (here).

In order to finalise the UK's position for that vote we would welcome your views on these proposals as soon as possible and not later than 6 March. Comments should be sent to Martyn Webb ([email protected]) and copied to Sarah Nicholson ([email protected]) with 'EuP Draft Working Paper Refrigeration' in the subject line.

There will also be an opportunity to raise issues at the forthcoming UK EuP Stakeholders meeting on 11 February - details are available here.
