EU Committee Agrees Implementing Measure Establishing Standards for Stand-by and Off Mode Losses
The Regulatory Committee established by the Ecodesign for Energy Using Products Framework Directive (EuP) agreed its first Implementing Measure (via an EU Regulation) on 7 July relating to standby and off-mode of household and office equipment. The text of this measure can be viewed here.
This proposal (after translation in all official Community languages) will be sent to the Council and European Parliament for extended scrutiny. If the Parliament has no objections it will be adopted by the Commission and published in the EU Official Journal beginning of 2009.
The first phase will come into force a year later.
