The latest UK stakeholder meeting to discuss the latest developments in the implementation of the Framework Directive for the Eco-design of Energy Using Products (EuP) took place in London on Wednesday 28 February 2007. This is the sixth such event organised by Defra and DTI to help keep interested parties informed and to hear in person their views on the implementation.

Three presentations were given at the meeting:

  • an introduction to the EuP Directive and update on latest developments. Click HERE to download.
  • information on the outcomes of the Street Lighting preparatory study. Click HERE to download.
  • information on the outcomes of the Batteries/External Power Supply Units preparatory study. Click HERE to download.

In addition, draft position papers were distributed outlining the position that the MTP believes it's evidence base suggests should be taken concerning the two completed preparatory studies.

  • the draft position paper for the Street Lighting preparatory study can be downloaded HERE.
  • the draft position paper for the Batteries/External Power Supply Units preparatory study can be downloaded HERE.

Comments on these draft position papers and the final reports of the two completed preparatory studies are encouraged from interested parties. These comments should be addressed to the contact details given in the position papers.

Defra and DTI intend to organise further meetings as further preparatory studies issue final reports and as soon as the European Commission issue their proposed implementing measures for any of the completed studies.
